The story
Leopards have been my favourite subjects to photograph. The aurelian aura of these elusive beings is one that echoes through my heart. Their versatility and adaptability is superior to any other mammal. From the tropics to the dry deciduous forests. Leopards in India have even adapted to urban forests in the outskirts of Mumbai and Bangalore.
The Individuals
I have devoted my journey to spending time with these animals which I love the most. It started in 2013 with Torn Ears in Kabini. Meeting these individuals was like interacting with a celebrity of sorts for a boy like me. Their elusiveness made it all the more rewarding. It progressed to seeing Scarface's rule in Kabini, and soon after Scarface, in the territory shared by Saaya came a new wandering Khymara male. My favorite leopard. Every time I was desperate in search of Saaya, we would witness the glory of this bold male. Over the years I have encountered over 50 different individuals between the forests of Kabini, Bandipur, Dandeli, and the Nilgiris.
