I have spent roughly 5 years in North America, 4 years while studying at New York University and another year while traveling. I have truly been fortunate to witness the country's natural beauty from the Eastern coasts and grasslands spread from Delaware to New York to the canyons and mountains of the West across Arizona and California. Witnessing the changing of seasons and learning how different seasons can get from your tropical Africa or India was intriguing. Seeing the trees in fall turn into the most vibrant hues of yellow and red to seeing snow-capped Yosemite, America has plenty to offer especially for those who appreciate scenic landscapes.
HOW WILD IS AMERICA?
From the red foxes to roseate spoonbill's in the East to bobcats and coyotes in the West, America gets pretty wild. While I am yet to explore further north into Alaska and Canada for the various bears, I spent time with one creature that I shall cherish for a lifetime, the bobcat. In the grasslands of Northern California, I was able to literally crawl and get up close to bobcats, observing their elusive behavior through my bare eyes. Watching them hunt, to seeing them being playful, it was indeed a treat to spend time with another wild cat on the bucket list.
