The African Savannah

The vast Savannahs of East Africa are a haven for wildlife. The home of the African Big 5 - Lions, Elephants, Rhinoceros, Wild Buffalo, and Leopards.

The Story

My first ever trip with a Digital SLR camera in hand. I picked up the Nikon D750 and the Nikkor 500mm f5.6 in August 2017. It was a new environment, different from the deciduous forests of South India. The Savannahs had magic, prides of kings, the fastest mammals, and the rarest beasts, the rhinos. I spent a week in Masai Mara exploring the game reserve as well as Narok conservancy.

Servals to Rhinos

Over the span of a week, Africa had everything to show from its fauna biodiversity. From the elusive serval to the black rhino, I witnessed cheetahs hunting, lions mating, and leopards on trees. For more content, check @dhruvpatil_photography on Instagram.
